Truck driver killed in Friday afternoon wreck identified

SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The identity of the man killed in an 18-wheeler collision Friday afternoon has been released.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 59-year-old Archie Lee Moore of Kennard, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene of the Smith County accident at 12:15 p.m.

The loaded logging truck Moore was driving was traveling on County Road 21 toward Jamestown when an unloaded semi-truck pulled out in front of it. The logging truck struck the semi-truck's flatbed, pushing it onto its side.

The accident occurred near the intersection of County Road 21 and County Road 26, just off of Highway 31. County Road 21 was blocked as crews worked to remove logs from the area.
