NEW ORLEANS, LA (WAFB) -

Cemetery caretakers have a bit of a mystery on their hands in New Orleans after someone vandalized the tomb of Voodoo queen Marie Laveau.

According to The Times-Picayune, someone sneaked into St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 and painted the tomb pink. While it may look nice, the latex paint also traps in moisture, which can cause major damage to the tombs.

It also covers thousands of "X" marks people drew on the tomb. According to legend, to have a wish granted, you have to draw an "X" on the tomb, turn around three times, and then knock on the tomb.
