At the age of 107, Elmer Hill is the second oldest U.S. Veteran of World War II.
One of twelve brothers, Hill had worked his way through college and was well on his way to a successful career in education, when he was drafted and sent off to war aboard the ship Saginaw Bay. Hill's ship was involved in some of the fiercest battles in the South Pacific.
