In memory of Gayle Ann Irving, my mother. She passed away on May 15, 2013. I had just moved back to East Texas from Missouri and had only been here 3 days when I got the call all children dread.
She was a fiercely independent woman and worked in many different fields of employment, including computers when there was no such thing as the internet. Computers were the size of a large SUV. A relative had told her it would be a dead end career, since computers would only be good for storing information for libraries and helping out accountants. My was he ever wrong.
She always traveled to the beat of a different drummer. Her greatest achievement were her children. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren.
