LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

The victim of a Marshall bar shooting is expected to recover. Trey Rogers, 20, was shot outside Charlie's Backyard Bar in Marshall in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 15.

We spoke with his mother Monday at Good Shepherd Medical Center where he is being treated, and she tells us her son was shot three times. He has had multiple surgeries and shouldn't require any more she said.

She also tells us he is awake, talking, and has a positive attitude about his recovery.

Rogers was shot by an off-duty Harrison County Sheriff's Deputy, according to a search warrant.

This incident is still under investigation.
