An East Texas man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident in Cass County early Friday morning.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 54-year-old David Michael McBryde of Bloomburg was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound on Highway 155 around 3:30 a.m. Juan Carlos Alvarado, 39, of Tyler was driving a 2013 Freightliner semi-truck in the inside westbound lane of Highway 155 near County Road 1574.
The Lumina, driven by McBryde, crossed the center stripe into the westbound lanes of the roadway when it turned a curve. The car collided with the semi-truck, driven by Alvarado.
McBryde was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at 3:47 a.m. by Cass County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Barbara McMillon. He was wearing a seat belt.
Alvarado was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Linden with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated for his injuries and released.
The crash occurred just four miles west of Linden.
