Struggling South Carolina faces USC-Upstate at home

(RNN) - Two days after falling to Manhattan 86-68 at home, South Carolina tries to regroup against University of South Carolina Upstate.

The Gamecocks trailed most of the game against Manhattan, though they made a couple of runs early in the second half before the Jaspers pulled away right after the 10-minute mark and held on. Manhattan won the game at the line, hitting a devastating 34-of-39 while the Gamecocks only managed to connect on 22-of-38.

Sindarius Thornwell had 17 points for USC, which fell to 2-4. Tyrone Johnson added 12.

USC Upstate is 5-5 this year and is also coming off a disappointing home loss, falling 73-63 to UNC-Ashville.

Torrey Craig and Ty Greene scored 19 each for the Spartans, who managed just 34 percent from the floor.

Craig leads the team with 18.2 points per game. The Spartans like to take it outside, but aren't particularly good at it. About a quarter of all their shots have been 3-pointers this year, but they are only hitting 54-of-177, a little more than 30 percent.

The game tips off at 4 p.m. ET.
