Flu Vaccine Price Gouging Suit

As the demand for the flu vaccine continues to put pressure on an already scarce supply, price gouging has become a problem.

The Attorney General of Kansas has filed a lawsuit against Fort Lauderdale, Florida based Meds-Stat for selling what are normally 85 dollar vials of flu vaccine for 900 dollars. Now, Meds-Stat faces two counts of "deceptive acts" and two counts of "unconscionable acts."

Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline says, "we will not stand by as powerful forces attempt to exploit the vulnerable and jeopardize the health of many."

Attorney General Kline is seeking civil penalties of ten thousand dollars for each violation and ten thousand dollars for each violation against seniors in Kansas.
