Local business teaches your children while you work

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A relatively new East Texas employer is looking to fill more than 200 job openings, and they've got one thing in particular that makes them a very appealing workplace for parents.

Centene Corporation has been a part of the Tyler business community for more than a year, but it's just this week that they moved into their brand new facility on the west side of Tyler.

It's a state-of-the art workplace that offers on-site childcare for their employees' young children.

"That was a big reason why I took the job. I had the opportunity to stay home with my daughter for a little while and whenever I started looking for a job... knowing that I could work somewhere were my daughter was right there if I need to get to her or she needs to get to me... it's a great feeling knowing that she's right there," explains Centene employee Melissa Childers.

The child learning center not only cares for but teaches children ages six months through six years. Then, the kids can make a seamless transition into school.

"Other daycares model off of this daycare as far as their curriculum and what they eat and everything that they do throughout the day. The teachers are going to be amazing," says Melissa excitedly.

The child learning center will be up and running in January. Giving the Centene employees who are also parents to young children a great peace of mind, knowing their little ones are both playing and learning just a sidewalk away.

If you're struggling between, 'Do I stay at home? Do I go back to work? Do I really feel like I need to go back to work?' ...this would be a great place to go because you know that you're going to have a great daycare and your child is really going to be taken care of," says Melissa.

Employees at Centene work with pharmacies, clinics and doctors to process insurance claims. They currently have about 100 employees and are looking to hire 225 more. If you want to read more about the jobs they currently have open, click here or give them a call at (903) 581-2968.
