TERRELL, TX (KLTV) -
Terrell Independent School District ordered all of its campuses and facilities to shelter in place on Tuesday morning around 11 a.m. The order was later lifted, but all campuses were placed in an 'exterior lock.'
InForney.com reports that the facilities were placed on exterior lock out of an "abundance of caution" after reports of an "alleged agitated individual who may have been heading to the Terrell area."
According to the district's Facebook page, authorities were working to confirm the whereabouts of the individual in question around 2:30 p.m. The district ads that until that individual is located, all bus riders, student walkers and students who drive to and from school will be held at school. However, parents and guardians are allowed to come and pick up their children from school.
Terrell ISD said that they are working with local law enforcement. They also emphasized that their actions were precautionary and no incident had occurred. All students and staff are reported safe.
We will continue to update this story with any new developments as they become available.
