CHEROKEE COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

The Troup Volunteer Fire Department and troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to reports of a submerged vehicle just south of Troup on Tuesday morning.

According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, a vehicle went into the water off of Highway 135 near the intersection of Farm to Market 2064.

The driver, Kelly Partin of Troup, was traveling on Highway 135 around 9:15 a.m. when she went off the roadway just before Mud Creek bridge. Partin's vehicle went into the creek and was completely submerged.

Two divers worked to fasten cables on the vehicle so that a wrecker could pull it from the creek.

Partin was cited for failure to drive in a single lane of the roadway. She was not injured.
