When Terry Cochran and his sister Tracee McCaslin bought Lindale Candy Company earlier this year, they were buying the store, founder Jim Witherow's recipes and an East Texas tradition. The late Witherow opened the company in 1946, so when the store closed three years ago, generations of customers mourned its loss Terry and Tracee, Lindale natives, had spent a lot of time in the store growing up, so owning the store seems almost like "coming home".
Hand made peppermint sticks are the specialty of Lindale Candy Company, although choices run in the hundreds. Lindale Candy Company is located at 113 West Hubbard in Lindale.
