Good afternoon! Yes, it's a cold and rainy afternoon, but it's Friday and we're sure you're happy about that.

Here are some stories to check out as you stay warm and dry today:

1. Our Holiday in the Park events are ready to go for tomorrow...the bazaar with over 50 vendors, Santa Scirto, snow play area, and more! However, the snow play area and snow hill won't be open tonight as planned, due to rain. We will see you tomorrow, though, and can hardly wait!

2.Tonight  - 7 Investigates: Enforcement lacking in state bus crash system.  There are standards in place, and our Cody Lillich will tell you on East Texas News at 6 what he's found regarding local school bus safety and enforcement of the TEA's Bus Accident Reporting System (BARS).

3.Gunman dead, 2 injured in Colorado high school shooting - the shooter inside Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado, apparently died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

4. A man named Terry Loewen plotted a suicide bombing at Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport, authorities said Friday afternoon. He said the 58-year-old man planned to kill himself in the car bombing as part of a "violent jihad against the United States." He has been arrested.
The suspect went to great lengths to research the airport and flights to find when the airport would be most packed with passengers.

5. In more positive news, there is plenty to do in East Texas this weekend to celebrate the holidays with your family and friends. From Holiday in the Park in Tyler to an R/C aircraft aerobatics fly-in in Mineola to a free holiday concert in Old Town Palestine, not to mention tons of live music around the area, you'll surely find something fun to do! 6.  If you're looking for a way to say thank you to service members, there are several opportunities to do so this weekend, as three will return to East Texas from overseas this weekend. Click here to find out times, locations, and the names of returning service members.

7. According to Lindale Police, officers have arrested a suspected car thief who led police on a manhunt Thursday evening. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Justin Deangelo Langrum of Rowlett, attempted to break into a building behind a residence near County Road 4200 in Lindale Friday morning. He was also reportedly seen in Lindale's Walmart on Thursday stealing unknown items, leaving the store in a stolen car. More details here.
