AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) - University of Texas head football coach Mack Brown met with UT president Bill Powers and new athletic director Steve Patterson Friday morning to discuss the possibility of Brown resigning.
Shortly after the meeting, it was announced that
Earlier this week, two sources indicated that Brown was expected to resign from his position by the end of the week. On Thursday, Brown attended a press conference for the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. In an effort to prevent further questioning of his status with the team, he addressed the issue in his opening statements at the press conference.
"My situation has not changed. I've got the best president in the country with Bill Powers. He is unbelievable," said Brown.
Brown has served as head coach of the Texas Longhorns for the last 16 seasons. The team is set to take on Oregon in the 2013 Alamo Bowl set for December 30.
