Cherokee County judge resigns, county attorney appointed in his place

Posted: Updated:
The Cherokee County Commissioners Court accepted the resignation of County Court at Law Judge Craig Fletcher on Monday.

In a letter to the court last week, Fletcher said he made a decision to not seek reelection and would be tendering his resignation.

The commissioners court appointed County Attorney Kelley Peacock to be the new county court at law judge. That position is up for election in 2014.
