East Texas kids in need are celebrating an early Christmas this year thanks to a several motorcycle clubs.
The Brother's Keeper Motorcycle Ministry made sure East Texas kids in need got to meet Santa today. The children were able to sit in Santa's lap at Buckner Family Place in Lufkin and he even brought them some early gifts.
About 33 families were served. Organizers say there's never a shortage of toys as the community provides donations too.
"What we're wanting to do is not only give gifts at Christmas, but show the love of Christ at Christmas to folks," said group president, Scott Wilcox.
In Nacogdoches, the Texas Thunder Harley's Owner Group held a toy run. The weather led to the cancellation of the group's parade, but it didn't ruin their fun of collecting toys and donations for East Texas families.
"We raise money for the Family Crisis Center of East Texas and the Senior Citizen Center of Nacogdoches County. And we all bring a toy," said club member, Darla O'Neill.
The Texas Thunder H.O.G. group says they usually raise around $12,000 for the two non-profits. The money is divided evenly. The toys will be presented later this month to the Family Crisis Center.
