Rare albino raccoon found in attic

Posted: Updated:

(WMC-TV) - A local wildlife control agency found a rare albino raccoon living in the attic of a Germantown home this week.

The raccoon is a large male with an estimated weight around 20 pounds. He will be released on the APEX Wildlife Reserve.

The APEX Wildlife Control technician found the raccoon's entrance point along the roofline of the house.

Albinism results from loss of pigment. True albinos can either have pink or light blue eyes and a pink pigment in the nose, according to APEX.
