Good afternoon! Ok, I know it's not actually spring, but you have to admit, today sure looked like it was, didn't it?

Here are some stories of interest for you this afternoon:

1. It may look like spring today, as I mentioned, but there are only about three weeks until winter kicks in, and cold weather is going to come back through East Texas soon. In a few days, we'll need our coats again, it looks like. Check out Mark Scirto's forecast this afternoon on East Texas News at 4, 5 and 6!

2. Tonight there will be a candlelight vigil for Gail Sandidge, the Good Shepherd Medical Center nurse who was killed last week by a man who went on a brief stabbing spree in the day surgery center at the hospital. Our Melanie Torre will take you to the scene this evening.

3. Today, a woman who was a professional gambler-turned-wife and church founder is in our list, What Happened Today in Texas History. Not only was she interesting because of those things, but also because a popular tv character was modeled after her life! Find out more here.

4. After days and days of shopping, with Black Friday and Cyber Monday dominating our minds, tomorrow could be the day we refocus and decide to do some giving instead of shopping. Find out more about Giving Tuesday here.

5. The University Interscholastic League announced the addition of a new conference Monday, as well as the realignment cutoff numbers that will determine where teams will stand in February 2014. A new 6A conference will be added beginning with the 2014-2015 school year. We have posted the list of how it affects schools in our area here.

6.  An East Texas man was arraigned Monday morning in Cass County after police say he stabbed his wife to death, then fled the scene with his 4-year-old daughter, prompting an Amber Alert to be issued. The man, Brad Allen Dunn, has been charged with murder and evading arrest. Read the details here, and join us tonight at 6 as Mitch Goulding brings us more on that story.

7. Police made an arrest Sunday in the murder of an elderly Tyler man. J ust after 11 P.M. Saturday, 65 year old Tony Jeter was found dead at his home on Bow Street.Charles Sanchez said he is still in shock after finding his half-brother on the floor late Saturday night.
