Woman killed, baby transported to Dallas hospital after two-vehicle crash

RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 54-year-old Debbie Masters of Malone, Texas was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Mt. Enterprise Wednesday night. The wreck occurred at the intersection of Highway 84 and Farm to Market 95 around 5:54 p.m.

Dawson Alan Masters, 49, was driving a white Ford pick-up eastbound on Highway 84 when he ran a stop sign placed at the intersection. As a result, the Ford collided with a red Toyota Tundra traveling northbound on FM 95.

Debbie Masters was riding in the passenger seat of the Ford pick-up when the crash occurred. She was air-lifted to Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler where she later succumbed to her injuries. The second passenger in the Ford was an 11-month-old baby. The child was transported to a Dallas hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the Tundra, 48-year-old Michael Kenneth Howart of Lufkin, was treated at a local hospital and has since been released.
