MAGNOLIA, AR -

First-year head women's basketball coach Rusty Rainbolt has announced the signing of a pair of high school prospects for the 2014-15 season. The two future Lady Muleriders, Lauren Lee and Kierra Smith, signed with the program during the November signing period.

Kierra Smith | 6'1 | Forward |Texas High School |Texarkana, Texas

Rainbolt on Smith: "We feel Kierra is a steal for our program. It is hard to find that "Diamond in the rough" anymore with the way college basketball recruiting is, but we know we hit the jackpot. She is an extremely talented basketball player with great size and athleticism. At 6'1, we feel she has the potential to be a versatile offensive and defensive threat. More importantly, Kierra has shown the ability to persevere through adversity. She has a maturity that proves to us that she will be able to handle the transition from high school to college and handle the academic and athletic rigors that accompany.   We are really excited and blessed to have Kierra and her family joining the SAU Family. "

Lauren Lee | 6'3 | Center | Chireno High School |Chireno, Texas | Played for DFW Elite (AAU)

Rainbolt on Lee: "We are really excited and blessed to have Lauren and her family joining the SAU Family. Lauren is an exceptional young woman that will make us better in every facet of our program. She has high-character, is family-oriented and is extremely intelligent, as she is set to be the Valedictorian for her senior class. On the court, Lauren will bring a 6'3 strong defensive presence to play in the center of our zone defense. We knew that we had to find an 'Anchor' for our defense, and she is it. Offensively, Lauren has good hands and feet and has an extremely high ceiling to improve."
