LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

The Welcome Home Soldier Group was at it again tonight; this time at the East Texas Regional Airport in Gregg County.

U.S. Army Specialist Todd McDonald got a hero's welcome Saturday Night  on his return. He served in the 173rd Air Brigade Combat Team since 2010 in Iraq and Italy. Regina Darby of Longview was also on hand. WE recently told you about a veterans helping veterans group she's forming in the East Texas Area. Todd is from Longview and graduated from Pine Tree High School. He managed to get home for the Thanksgiving holiday.

"I wasn't expecting it. I've never had a welcome home like this before. I'm very glad that all these people came down here. It's an honor. It's very cool, I'm very proud to be here," Todd said.

There was a bonus on this flight, Marine Aviator Travis Bond was returning home to spend the holiday with his family in Longview. He tried to scoot past the group, but Welcome Home Soldiers gave him the recognition he deserved.
