Major cool down coming to East Texas on Friday

The Cold Front that has been advertised to move through our area tomorrow is right on schedule.

This front will have some very cold air associated with it and very gusty northerly winds as well. As the front passes through your area tomorrow morning, the chances for showers and thunderstorms will exist and winds will shift from the south to the north and increase quite a bit.

You will notice this frontal passage with the initial wind shift and increase in wind speeds, then you will notice a rapid decrease in temperatures.

As for temperatures tomorrow, our high will be during the earliest part of the morning, shortly after midnight, and the low for the day will occur tomorrow night, near midnight. The most important information about the temperatures tomorrow will be the steady drop during the day.

Some of the northern sections of East Texas will drop into the upper 40s and stay there. Central and southern sections will drop into the lower 50s and stay there. With the northerly winds at 15-25mph and gusty, it will be a raw day as the rain continued and the cold air continues to spill in.

The weekend will continue to feel the influx of cold air as Saturday's temperatures will be from the lower 40s, for lows, to the lower 50s (maybe) for highs. Sunday should start in the lower to middle 30s, ending up in the upper 40s.

Just a note for your high school football fans...jackets and umbrellas will be necessary accessories.

Around 4:15 p.m. PDT, the Cowboys arrived at the Ventura County Naval Base in Pt. Mugu. And every player was dressed in a suit and tie, a pretty business like approach already being sent from Head Coach Jason Garrett. Before taking buses to the training camp headquarters in Oxnard, the players and Coach Garrett took time to sign autographs for the military and their families.
