Despite Rain, Record Setting Alzheimer's Alliance Walk

It takes more than a downpour to keep this group down.

Despite the rain, the 12th annual Paint The Town Purple Alzheimer's Alliance walk was a bigger success than ever before. The rain cancelled the actual walking tonight at Rose Rudman park in Tyler, but it didn't stop the hundreds of wanna-be walkers who raised money for the Alzheimer's Alliance of Northeast Texas. The Alzheimer's Alliance is a non-profit organization that provides education, advocacy and services to the more than 18-thousand Northeast Texas families dealing with Alzheimer's Disease.

The event ended tonight with a candlelight ceremony honoring victims of Alzheimer's and their families.

Even with the rain, the event set a new record, raising more than $90,000.
