Video shows fighting in streets, followed by car plowing into crowd at ETX party
LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
Video from the night of an East Texas party shows one woman fighting in the streets, then driving at a crowd of people outside.
That woman, 19-year-old Whitney Wolfe, has been charged with accident involving injury, after police say she plowed her car into a crowd of approximately 20 people Saturday night in Longview.
Three individuals in that crowd were hit by the car and sent to the hospital. Two were later released. One man is still hospitalized and recovering from his injuries.
The video first shows a woman getting out of her car. She then quickly enters into a fight with another woman in the middle of the street. The women knock each other to the ground and punch each other repeatedly.
According to the arrest affidavit, Wolfe was fighting another woman who arrived with her in the same car.
After the fight was broken up, the two were reportedly asked to leave. Wolfe then returns to her car and begins to drive off. That's when the video shows headlights, followed by sounds of an engine revving and a car running over multiple objects.
According to Wolfe's arrest affidavit, those sounds were her car hitting the three people, dragging on man under the car.
That man is 18 year old Adrian Moreno, who is currently recovering at a Longview hospital after suffering two fractured collar bones, a fractured pelvis and a severed ear.
"My body was in the middle, underneath the car and her tires on the left side of my car both went over my back and onto my feet," Moreno said in an interview Monday.
Witnesses believe the action was intentional. But according to police, Wolfe claimed her tires had been slashed and that caused her to veer into the crowd. The affidavit also states that Wolfe knowingly left the scene after injuring others, driving more than five miles on a flat tire, before stopping at a gas station to change it.
Wolfe also admitted to being under the influence of marijuana and Xanax the day of the incident. Longview police said no drug test was administered.
At this time, Wolfe only faces charges for accident involving injury and is currently out of the Gregg County jail on a $30,000 bond.
Longview police do not expect any other charges to be filed in the case.
