Millions of Texans have unclaimed cash. Are you one of them?
It's hard to imagine actually forgetting about money, but that is the case for every one in four Texans.
With the holidays coming, who wouldn't want a little extra cash? Texas Comptroller Susan Combs is working to give about $3 billion of unclaimed money back to Texans. This unclaimed property comes from forgotten bank accounts, uncashed checks, security deposits and utility refunds.
In 2012 alone, the state returned more than $159 million back to Texas residents.
