COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

University of South Carolina kicker Elliott Fry has been named Freshman of the Week by the SEC. The announcement came after Fry's performance in the Gamecocks 19-14 win over Florida Saturday at Williams Brice Stadium.

Fry is a 6-0, 150-pound walk-on from Frisco, TX.  He was 4 of 5 on field goal attempts, totaling 13 points in the Gamecocks win.  He was successful on attempts of 25, 45, 22 and 43 yards.  His 45-yard field goal was a career high.

Fry has been successful on 14-of-17 field goal attempts this season (82.4 percent), including 8 of his last 9 attempts. It's the second time this season that Fry has been honored by the league office as he was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week following his game-winning kick at Missouri.
