Good afternoon! We hope your day is going well.

Here are a few stories of interest for you to peruse this afternoon:

1. Apparently, our Southern drawl is pretty popular around the country; one dating site polled its users, who said the Southern drawl is the most attractive accent in the country. You can see the numbers, and vote in our poll, too, bless y'alls heart.

2. A dryer caught fire this afternoon in Smith County, heavily damaging a home. Our reporter Melanie Torre was on the scene, and says that the home had extensive damage, but no one was injured. This may be a good time for us all to check our dryer vents and filters as a precaution.

3. President Obama plans to hold off cancellations for people whose individual policies don't comply with the new health care law for one year. Our Mitch Goulding reached out to East Texans today to find out if this change will affect any of you, and he will explain how East Texans are reacting to this latest change tonight on East Texas News at 6.

4. A KLTV fan found a sweet little lab mix in the area around Kilgore's Country Tavern. He seems house-trained and friendly, and needs his family  back. Click here to see him, and to find out about a new way you can reach more people with your lost and found pet pictures and info!

5.  Your Week in Pop Culture: Facebook losing ground with teens and business deals; Snapchat declines $3B buyout deal from Facebook. Also, one pop singer satirizes another for objectifying women...guess who she was referring to?

6. New details have emerged about a 28-year-old Jasper man who disappeared Thursday of last week near Hemphill despite no leads in regards to his whereabouts. Apparently, Alfred Wright has been charged with theft, embezzlement and misapplication by a bank employee, and was set to appear in court on December 9. His lawyer says he doesn't think this has anything to do with Wright's disappearance.

7. From the mug shots police took of Lee Harvey Oswald to the homicide report for the president he was accused of killing, a collection of rarely seen artifacts related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy has gone on display at Dallas City Hall. Find out when and where you can see the display here.

Check out our livestream on KLTV.com here if you're not able to watch us on tv today at 4, 5 and 6!

We'll see you then!
