Dozens of parents are asking Quitman Independent School District for answers after a high schooler was hospitalized for a possible case of Bacterial Meningitis. The Texas Department of Health is still testing the girl, but for now, there has been no official confirmation of the disease.
Also last week half a dozen students were sent home for showing signs of staph infections. Quitman Superintendent, Bill Travis spoke to us today. He released this statement saying, "We are working with the Texas Department of Health and have met or exceeded guidelines set by the agency."
They also say the entire campus and all of the buses have been disinfected because the safety and health of their students is their number one priority.
Test Results are expected back tomorrow afternoon.
