Crisp County baseball standout Taylor Walls will make his way to Tallahassee as a Florida State Seminole.
Walls signed with FSU Wednesday afternoon in front of his family and friends.
The infielder helped lead the Cougars to the GHSA AAAA Final Four in 2012.
After his visit to Tallahassee, Walls says he just couldn't turn down a chance to join one of the nation's premier programs.
"I really like the coaches there. It's a great atmosphere," says Walls. "When you go there, I went on a couple visits, and I really just fell in love with it. The fans are into it. It's like a big family."
Walls says his relationship with legendary head coach Mike Martin was a key factor in his decision.
"He's like a granddaddy to me. It's just so natural when you're talking to him. He knows how to make you feel comfortable," the senior infielder says. "He's a great coach. He knows what he's talking about. What I like most of all about him is he still gets down and does it."
Walls says he doesn't quite know what his role with FSU will be. He says he's more focused on his senior season and trying to get the Cougars back into the state title hunt.
