Coach Montgomery's second calling

Randal Montgomery Randal Montgomery
HAZLEHURST, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

In three seasons at Hazlehurst, Randal Montgomery has lost just three games. Included in that is an undefeated, state title season in 2012.

But in the off-season Coach Montgomery has a separate sports passion. A longtime baseball fan, he doubles as an umpire. He's called high school and junior college games in the past and recently Coach Montgomery found out he'll be doing Division 1 games next spring.

While being a football coach is his top priority, he enjoys umpiring and uses it as an escape from the football field.
