SGTC sweeps Atlanta Metro in conference openers

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

SGTC 92, Atlanta Metro 64

The South Georgia Tech Jets stay unbeaten and open GCAA play on the right foot with a blowout win over Metro Atlanta Tuesday night.

Anthony Ethridge had 18 points at halftime, and led the Jets to a 92-64 win at The Hangar.

SGTC led by 25 at the end of the first half, and continued to dominate the Trailblazers on the boards throughout the game.

The Jets travel to Southern Union Friday night.

SGTC 82, Atlanta Metro 72

The Lady Jets held off an Atlanta Metro rally to open the conference season with a ten point win Tuesday night.

Nikkei Blackburn scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Jets. Alexia Somerset added 16 points.

In all, five Lady Jets scored in double figures and fought off a late Lady Blazer comeback attempt to earn the win.

SGTC travels to Phenix City, AL to take on Chattahoochee Valley CC next Monday.
