WASKOM, TX (KSLA) -

There was a Monday night party in Waskom and all was invited for a pre-playoff pep rally for the Wildcat football team after celebrating an undefeated season.

The Wildcats finished the regular season undefeated for the first time in 20 years, winning the district championship and Monday night was a night for the fans to just come out and celebrate the historic season.

Head coach Whitney Keeling says the community has been incredible and has been a vital part of their success which has made Waskom the buzz once again.  Keeling says "I know for a fact that whenever they see someone in their Wildcat jersey or their sweat shirt or their T shirt or whatever they are always saying way to go Wildcats or something to that effect. Of course I get all the recognition but its not all about me its about these kids."

Senior offensive lineman J. C. Garcia says "It means as much to them as it means to us. We try to go out there every night you know and do our best for them."

Waskom will play Union Grove in Hallsville on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
