Former Cowboys quarterback Danny White was in Tyler Tuesday night. White was a guest speaker for the Special Wish Child Gala at Cascades Country Club.
Samsung donated $40,000 that will go towards 25 wishes for East Texas children with disabilities.
"Everything from wheelchairs to special beds, whatever they need," said White. "It all stays in East Texas. That's the one regret I have in my career as a player is I didn't take more advantage of things like this and opportunities I had to participate with groups like this. I'm trying to make up for it now."
White stopped in Tyler after covering Sunday night's Cowboys game in New Orleans. The former Cowboy says there's no need to hit the panic button. The Cowboys are dealing with too many injuries.
"This has been a problem for the Cowboys is injuries," said White. "They need tougher players or tougher doctors. I don't know which one. Somebody has to get those guys back on the field. They need Miles Austin on the field. Sean Lee is a huge loss. They've got to get him back as soon as possible. Injuries to key players is their biggest problem and this bye week couldn't come soon enough."
