Debate Reactions

In last night's debate, the war on Iraq was the first of several subjects Vice president Cheney and Senator John Edwards tussled over during their 90 minute match up.

Cheney said senators Kerry and Edwards were indecisive. Today while in Pennsylvania, President Bush was energized by last night's debate and took some jabs at his opponents as well.

Senator Edwards tried to hammer President Bush and Vice president Cheney in the area of domestic issues. Edwards focused on the deficit and job losses. Kerry commended his running mate last night for standing up to Cheney.

In an ABC News poll following last night's debate, viewers felt Cheney won, 43 to 35 percent. But more republicans did tune in, which could in part reflect the higher numbers.
