Chamber Of Commerce Awards Dedicated Citizens, Businesses

A big night for our community leaders. At the annual Chamber of Commerce meeting tonight, those who have served Tyler through the year were recognized. Among the awards presented tonight, a new award recognizing local business and their effect on the local economy.

Southside Bank won Large Business of the Year and Small Business of the Year went to Express Personnel Services and its owner, Rockey Gill. Volunteer of the Year went to KTLV 7's Account Executive Sheila Billingsley for her dedication to the mission of the Chamber.

The W.C. Windsor Award went to Jay Ferguson. He was honored as an outstanding citizen under the age of 36 for his contribution to the community.

The T.B. Butler Award went to Anita Ray for outstanding leadership and service. She said, "Well, it was a complete surprise, and it's wonderful to enjoy a community so much and to have a feeling that they really appreciate what you do and to be able to do it."

Another big announcement tonight was Jeff Austin III with Austin Bank will serve as next year's Chamber chairman.
