Store employee injured during attempted theft at Opry Mills

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a woman who tried stealing from the Old Navy at Opry Mills ended up hurting an employee as she tried to get away.

The suspect nearly made it to the parking lot when she was stopped by a loss prevention officer.

Police say the woman didn't give up and ended up clawing at the officer and pushing and pulling to get away.

When police got to the scene, 26-year-old Tena Allen was arrested.

Allen is accused of stealing $400 worth of clothing and is facing charges of misdemeanor theft and assault.
