Masked demonstrators promote government accountability in downtown Tyler

Posted: Updated:

More than two dozen demonstrators gathered in downtown Tyler Tuesday, in support of a global event called the Million Mask March.

The group said their goal is to raise awareness of what they called abuses and injustices by national governments.

"I think that if people stand down then there will never be any changes, and there needs to be changes," said demonstrator Karen Anderson.

"We want everybody to understand we have freedom of speech, we still have our bill of rights, we have our constitution and we're fighting for those," said another demonstrator, Aaron Bennett.

The local group said their main goal is to raise awareness about the need for government accountability.
