Traffic Advisory: Major accident snarling traffic on Loop 323 near R.E. Lee High School in Tyler. Avoid the area

A multiple-vehicle accident is causing a major delay on East Southeast Loop 323 in Tyler across from Robert E. Lee High school.

A vehicle crashed into Plato's Closet and several other wrecked vehicles are still in the roadway. Emergency crews are on the scene.

There is a major traffic backup in all directions and eastbound traffic on the loop is being rerouted. Tyler police are advising drivers to avoid the area until at least 6 p.m.

At least one person was transported from the scene by ambulance. Others were treated on the scene for their injuries.
