An Aviation First

A second flight for Spaceship One has become an aviation first. This morning, Spaceship One had its second successful mission.

The private backers of the craft have won a ten million dollar prize for the first non-governmental program to produce two flights into space in less than two weeks.

The flight was closely monitored by entrepreneurs hoping to profit from developing commercial space flight. It was also closely watched by the FAA  and lawmakers who must regulate the new industry.
