Tyler Bishop Joseph. E. Strickland has been diagnosed with Hepatitis A.
According to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception facebook page, Bishop Strickland was diagnosed as a result of contaminated food he was served in Rome while at Bishops' school.
The post also indicated that Bishop Folda of Fargo, North Dakota was also ill. The post later adds that Bishop Strickland is doing well, and that he will be taking an extended time off to recover. The post ended with "Consider offering a decade of the Rosary for his speedy recovery."
Bishop Strickland was chosen by Pope Benedict XVI to become the fourth Bishop of the Diocese of Tyler in September of 2012.
