Hundreds line the streets for the Tyler Rose Parade

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Hundreds of East Texans are celebrating the 80th Annual Texas Rose Festival.

It was those East Texans that lined the streets for the famous Rose Parade.

Schools from all over East Texas performed in the parade, and even Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass joined in the tradition.

Organizations came out to offer entertainment, and the cold weather didn't stop families from checking out this year's festivities.

"I love the rose parade, and I love the princesses, and all the pretty girls," said Emily Rivers.

"This is Emily's first year for the Rose Parade, and so far she's having a good time. We are waiting on her sister to come by, but I think she's really enjoying it so far," said Melanie Rivers, Emily's mother.

The parade route was 5 and a half miles long through the city of Tyler.
