Former addict promotes sobriety with 'Racing for Recovery'

According to the Department of Health and Human Services, an estimated 22 million American's are classified with some substance dependence or abuse. Todd Crandell used to be one of them.

Since quitting drugs and alcohol more than 10 years ago, Crandell has become a licensed counselor, completed 20 Ironman Triathlons, and founded ‘Racing for Recovery', an organization which aims to help addicts find sobriety.

‘Racing for Recovery' is holding its 12th annual 5K/10K Run/Walk event Saturday, October 20, at Lourdes University in Sylvania.  Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the run starting at 9 a.m.

Crandell stopped by Your Day to talk about the event, as well as his personal journey.
