One man is running barefoot through Georgia and Alabama this week in pursuit of an epic goal - to run all the way from Canada to the southern-most tip of Argentina.

Three months ago, Joseph Michael Kai-tsu Liu Roqueni set off from Montreal on foot, and has run over 1,100 miles to Auburn, Ala. so far.

"I've been meeting a lot of people," says Liu Roqueni. "So many crazy stories. One of the main reasons I wanted to do this is it's such an personal challenge, but then I realized a lot of people were commenting how inspiring this is... I want to prove that the human body is designed to run barefoot."

That is not the only reason he runs. In each of the 14 countries he runs through, he is partnering up with a foundation and raising money for education.

On Monday, Oct. 14, Lui Roqueni visited Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, Inc. in West Point, Ga.

Throughout the week, he has been updating his social media from the Chattahoochee Valley area. On Wednesday, Oct. 16, Roqueni tweeted, "Beauty time @ The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center."

The journey is expected to take another two years.
