PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Two bandits are behind a series of robberies targeting east Valley restaurants, Silent Witness said Tuesday.

In three of the four holdups, shots were fired but no one was hurt.

Between Sept. 9 and Oct. 10, the suspects, wearing masks or bandanas, entered the restaurants carrying long rifles and/or a handgun, said Silent Witness Sgt. Darren Burch.

The suspects ordered the employees to the floor or into the back of the business.

In the robberies, one suspect has an employee open the register while making threats and demanding money, Burch said. The other suspect watches the other customers and employees.

The suspects fled in a four-door white car in two of the robberies.

The restaurants hit by the bandits are:

  • Long John Silvers, 1202 W. Broadway Rd., Tempe
  • Carl's Jr, 1440 W. Southern Ave., Mesa
  • Burger King, 1139 W. Broadway Rd., Tempe
  • Burger King, 2011 S. McClintock Dr., Tempe

Both suspects are Hispanic. One of them is between 5'9" to 6' tall with a heavy build. He is between 25 to 30 years old. He has tattoos on his arms, a cross on his left wrist and a tear drop tattoo on left cheek with three dots above it. He was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and Nike sandals with socks. He had an orange or yellow bandana over his face and dark gloves.

The second suspect is between 5'8" to 6' tall. He has a thin build and is between 25 to 30 years old. He was also wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He wore baggy pants, dark-colored shoes and a dark beanie cap. He, too, had an orange or yellow bandana over his face.

Anyone with information about these fugitives is asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO.
