Johnny Manziel wins SEC Offensive Player of the Week, Earl Campbell awards

BIRMINGHAM, AL (KLTV) - Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, was named the Southeastern Conference offensive player of the week.

Manziel was 31-of-39 passing for 346 yards and ran for 118 yards and two touchdowns in the Aggies' come-from-behind win over Mississippi to earn Monday's offensive honors. He surpassed 7,000 yards in total offense in his 19th game, the fastest in FBS history.

Manziel also won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award for week 7.

Also winning SEC player of the week nods was Missouri linebacker Kentrell Brothers, who made a career-high 10 tackles and had an interception in the final minute to help seal the Tigers' win over Georgia. Sam Irwin-Hill, of Arkansas, was the special teams player of the week, averaging 53.5 yards on four punts, including a 79-yarder, against South Carolina.

Auburn quarterback Jeremy Johnson is freshman of the week. Alabama guard Anthony Steen received offensive line honors and LSU end Danielle Hunter is defensive lineman of the week.
