Proud of East Texas: Griff Hubbard

Griff Hubbard is a fifth generation "railroad man".

He's worked for Amtrack, officing in the old Longview Train Depot for the past 43 years.

The city is turning the Depot into a regional transportation hub and restoring the old depot to its original 1939 architecture.

Hubbard is retiring next Spring and leaving a special legacy to the Depot. He's gifted $25,000 as seed money for a commemorative brick pavement project.

If there's a railroad veteran or military veteran in your family you can buy a brick with the member's name on it for the depot's outside pavilion. Contact Dietrich Johnson with the city of Longview at 903-237-1089 for information
