AUBURN, AL - Jeremy Johnson's first college game was a roaring success, and Auburn smashed the record for most yards in a game in a 62-3 homecoming win over Western Carolina.

The Tigers (5-1) gained 712 yards and Johnson, subbing for the injured Nick Marshall, threw for four touchdowns and 201 yards.

Johnson hit 17 of 21 passes in less than quarters before turning the game over to backup Jonathan Wallace. Marshall warmed up but didn't play after hurting his knee in last week's win over Ole Miss.

Johnson's four touchdown passes tied him with Stan White for the most in an Auburn debut. Daniel Cobb had five in 2001.

Tre Mason had 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Cameron Artis-Payne added another 133 yards rushing.

The Catamounts (1-6) have lost 32 games in a row to FBS and FCS teams and only managed 173 total yards in the game.
