After playing his freshman season at Wingfield, and then transferring to Jim Hill that spring semester, KC Lucious knew those schools weren't the right fit for him.
So his sophomore year Lucious got accepted to Jackson Academy and transferred to JA. He joined the football team and has been making the most of his new opportunity ever since.
Lucious quickly found a friend that he could relate to on the team. Jamaal Clayborn had been down a similar path, starting his high school years at Forest Hill before coming to JA. The two became close friends and Clayborn became a great example for Lucious to follow. Jamaal took advantage of his opportunity and is now on scholarship, playing football for Mississippi St.
Now a junior, Lucious is making his own name on the field. The 6'5 225lb. defensive end has turned into a dominant force up front for the Raiders. He's leading the team with 11 tackles for loss and 8 sacks.
Lucious will need another big game Friday when JA hosts their rival, Jackson Prep.
