Authorities seeking public help after deputy's truck stolen from police lot

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a very bold car thief.

A Smith County deputy had just parked his car on the night of September 9th in The Smith County Sheriff's’s Department lot on Ferguson Street, in Tyler.

Surveillance video shows the suspect walk up to the lot and jump the fence. He then hops into the deputy’s personal truck. After waiting a moment, the man speeds off through a fence.

The truck has since been found, but police are asking the public to identify the man in this video.
