GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A man died at a Valley hospital after a his truck slammed into a tree in Glendale early Tuesday morning.

The construction-type truck jumped the curb before striking the tree near 67th and Olive avenues about 5:30 a.m., said Officer Tracey Breeden of the Glendale Police Department.

Breeden said 67th Avenue was closed between Olive and Butler Drive to the south.

The driver was the only person in the truck, Breeden said.

He was taken to a Valley hospital and it appeared he suffered from a medical condition that could have caused the crash, Breeden said.

No other information was immediately available.
